Learning from each other

Together we are much stronger than each on his own
. This sentence is taken seriously by SCIA.

Allplan Engineering coupled to ERP-system Binfos

On the 'Betondag' (Concrete Day) in the Netherlands on the 18th November, SCIA and LIC shared a stand. Together they presented a workshop on the coupling between Allplan Engineering (www.scia-online.com/allplan) and Binfos (www.lic.nl).

Tips&Tricks: Calculator for small calculations

When putting loads on a structure, it can happen that a small calculation is required. For example: a wind load of 1,5 kN/m² which works on the side of a shed, in which the frame distance is 3m, results in a line load of 4,5 kN/m on the columns.

Instead of having to use a calculator, SCIA.ESA PT allows the equation itself to be inputted.

To do this, the equation must be typed in the value field of the load and must be preceded by ‘=’.

This handy feature allows for a quick calculation of small equations and can be used as a substitute for a calculator or as a check on mental arithmetic.
