			Water accumulation in SCIA.ESA PT
			Water accumulation In the SCIA.ESA PT program a module is available for the determination of loads due to the accumulation of water. As SCIA.ESA PT works entirely in 3D, the effects of water accumulation are also entered and calculated in 3D. 			The construction market in Dubai
			A legion of cranes on the edge of the desert proves that the unrestrained expansion of the building industry is still going strong in Dubai. The latest pharaonic project is called "Chess City", a site composed of 32 buildings representing a chessboard. Dubai, the 'place to be' for tourism and business in the Gulf, the place of superlatives, is already sprinkled with buildings in futuristic style, real architectonic pearls. The skyscrapers compete with each other for luxury and elegance; one striking example is the "Bourj al-Arab" (Tower for the Arabs), the highest hotel of the world. Among the new projects we can mention the "Bourj Dubai" which, with a height of nearly 500 m, will be the highest high-rise flat of the world; an 'under water' hotel and ... <more>
			Kaal Mastenfabriek builds highly outstanding Radarmasts
			The 'Radarmast of Zandvoort' is the most exceptional mast ever placed by Kaal Mastenfabriek. The special design was done by Zwarts & Jansma, a firm of architects. The building department of Rijkswaterstaat commisioned the job. The mast, with a height of 50 m, is situated in the middle of the dunes, next to the circuit of Zandvoort (in The Netherlands). On top is placed a slowly rotating radarantenna of 6,4 m height. In total, the mast weights 45 ton, of which 20 tons for the mast, 7,5 tons for the almost massive cast-iron spheroid segments, 7,5 tons for the stairs and 10 ton for the radar with control centre. The dimensions of the base, which is poured in reinforced concrete, are no less than 9,5m by 9,5m by 1,6m. 			Tips&Tricks: Units in SCIA.ESA PT
			Would you like to adapt the units of your loads or represent your results in a more accurate way? Do you prefer daN to kN, or would you like to examine your bending in cm instead of in mm? Via the button you get to the window of the units. In this window, the number of decimals can be adapted for the required results. One could e.g increase the number of decimals of the bending in order to obtain a more accurate representation of the bending. In this window one can always adapt the unit as well as the export format of each value. When you are introducing the geometry, checking the results or looking at any other part of the program, you always have the button at your disposal in each menu. Adaptations can be made at all times.
